God is the English name given to the singular omnipotent being in theistic and deistic religions (and other belief systems) who is either the sole deity in monotheism, or a single deity in polytheism.

God is most often conceived of as the supernatural creator and overseer of the universe. Theologians have ascribed a variety of attributes to the many different conceptions of God. The most common among these include omniscience (infinite knowledge), omnipotence (unlimited power), omnipresence (present everywhere), omnibenevolence (perfect goodness), divine simplicity, and eternal and necessary existence. God has also been conceived as being incorporeal, a personal being, the source of all moral obligation, and the "greatest conceivable existent". These attributes were all supported to varying degrees by the early Jewish, Christian and Muslim theologian philosophers, including Maimonides, Augustine of Hippo, and Al-Ghazali, respectively. Many notable medieval philosophers and modern philosophers developed arguments for the existence of God. Many notable philosophers and intellectuals have, in contrast, developed arguments against the existence of God.

A. You should probably entitle it more like "What I think about God" since it will mostly be comprised of YOUR ideas about such--and also I'm quite certain that title has already been used at one time or another...

How would life be different if God intervened miraculously whenever our lives were threatened?
Q. God's opponents often question his existence because he does not ordinarily intervene to protect people from human evil or from natural disaster. But what if God DID miraculously protect us whenever we were threatened by evildoers or natural misfortune? For example, suppose miraculous food appeared when we were hungry, impregnable shelters appeared to protect us from hurricanes, and wild animals inexplicably lost interest in mid-pounce. Under such divine catastrophe insurance, would we love God or hunger and thirst for righteousness?

A. In this world, we'd all be in a rut emotionally, physically, and mentally. We'd never be able to move on from this existence because without pain, we'd stay exactly the same and only be fit for this existence and this existence only, if even that. Real learning requires experiencing pain. That is the reason little children say learning what they "don't want to learn" isn't fun, but hard. And we make them learn what they "don't want to learn" anyway, despite their complaints of agony. If we didn't, they could never survive adulthood. Parental wisdom trumps little children's complaints. If God intervened miraculously to prevent us from experiencing any pain, could any of us be fit to survive in the afterlife? Heck, could any of us… [cont.]
