In physics, a physical body or physical object (sometimes simply called a body or object) is a collection of masses, taken to be one. For example, a cricket ball can be considered an object but the ball also consists of many particles (pieces of matter). In philosophy; particularly the branch of metaphysics called ontology which is the study of existence; a physical object is an object which exists throughout a particular trajectory in space over a particular duration of time, as contrasted with abstract objects such as mathematical objects which do not exist at any particular time or place. The common conception of physical objects includes that they have extension in the physical world, although there do exist theories of quantum physics and cosmology which may challenge this. Many religions tell us that our thoughts and behaviors on earth will affect our afterlife. I was wondering how this is possible since after we die our body and mind no longer remain but the soul continues to exist. How is it then that our actions and thoughts on earth which are all purely physical and reside in the mind and not the soul, affect us in the afterlife? Asked by Reality Redefined - Wed Dec 3 16:04:53 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Your observations are right. The physical actions and thoughts have no affect on spirituality. Our soul is not connected to our physical body. The soul uses the physical body and reality for its correction, but the soul is eternal, and the body is obviously not. Actually our soul has been changing bodies for hundreds or even thousand of reincarnations, and will keep doing so, until its correction process is finished, and our souls reach their purpose. Here is a short video on reincarnation, which hopefully you will find useful: If you would like to learn more about the spiritual path and correction, here is a link which could guide you to the first steps: All the best. Q. Why I was picked to live this life and not one of the other 6.5 billion persons on the planet? Am I making any sense? Asked by Daniel Aspey-Smith - Fri Aug 21 05:32:35 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Because as far as we can tell, consciousness requires a brain, which can only be in one place. I know what you mean though, used to wonder the same thing, but if you let go of any notion of soul or consciousness outside the body, you're left with "because this is where my brain is". Unsatisfying, I know. Answered by Blue C - Fri Aug 21 06:06:02 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Physical body" |
