In FrostWire, what's the difference between picking a song with an AU format sound and picking one with an MP3?
Q. A brief explanation of FrostWire would also be helpful lol. Thanks in Advance!
Asked by Elena P - Sat Jun 27 00:51:15 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The mp3 format is so you can transfer the song onto a cd or mp3/ipod. Frostwire is a sharing site and when you download a song or video other people can see what is popular and what isn't. If a song isn't very popular then it won't be easy to find. When you download something it goes into the library on there so you can easily see what you have. If you want to burn a cd or transfer music to an ipod, etc. You will have to go to your documents folder and looked for shared then when you open that you will see a list of all your downloaded songs and videos and from there you can start your transfers

A. On Windows XP: 1. Shutdown FrostWire completely if it's running. 2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel". 3. Select "Add/Remove Programs". 4. Select " FrostWire". 5. Click "Change/Remove". On Windows Vista: 1. Shutdown FrostWire completely if it's running. 2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Settings" > "Control Panel". 3. Select "Programs and Features". 4. Select " FrostWire". 5. Click "Uninstall/Change". A Wizard window will appear, just follow it's simple instructions to finish uninstalling. If the application fails to uninstall, use Revo uninstaller or CClearner to uninstall it from PC.

A. Check if you frostwire is updated. Your completed downloaded music files could be in your shared folder which is in documents and settings (mine is). I use Nero express when burning it to cd. Just open Nero express, click music, then click audio cd, then drag or copy paste your downloaded files in it and click burn.

A. In the settings part of frostwire, there should be a tap called SHARED. click on that, and make sure that itunes is used to share songs with frostwire.

How can I get FrostWire to quit shutting down?
Q. Whenever I run FrostWire I like to leave it running as I walk away to do something else then come back to my computer. But everytime I do something that "takes over" the computer, FrostWire shuts down. Like playing Maple Story or going into Screen Saver or Sleep mode, will cause it to close. It's frustrating because then it closes my searches and such as well. :DD So does anyone know how to make it stop shutting off of its own accord?

Q. When I had Lime Wire, the songs I downloaded automattically went on my ITunes library. For some reason, my Lime Wire stopped working, so I downloaded Frostwire. However, when I download a song from Frostwire I have to manually add it to my ITunes library. This is very annoying! Can someone tell me how tp get it to add them automattically, like Lime Wire did?

A. I'd ditch frostwire and completely skip LW - both are significant sexurity risks, and neither is all that good for getting free music. Anyway, got that off my chest. Not sure how you are trying to get the songs onto your iPod. When I try and transfer songs to my 1st Gen Nano, I check manual control of the library, plug it in and simply drag the songs I want from the Itunes window onto the iPod icon (left side of the screen). That's assuming that the songs are already in itunes. You should be able to drag and drop the songs from the folder they currently are on now and drag them to the iTunes window. If that's not working, re-post this question with the header "having problems importing Frostwire MP3's into iTunes". good luck

A. What I do is make a new folder onto my desktop. Then I minimize my window of my FrostWire enough to see my desktop and the window. I highlight all my songs and drag them out into the folder I made. With iTunes go to Files and click "Add Folder To Library" and the folder should be there, then click it then press OK and the songs will be converted from the folder into iTunes. By the way, I would name the folder so you know which folder has the music.

Could frostwire download spyware and adware into my computer?
Q. I know if i download something from frostwire there is a chance i might download something besides a song. But im saying when im not downloading anything, when frostwire is running. Is it possible for spyware or adware to download by itself into my computer since its p2p?
Asked by Gil - Tue Apr 14 02:15:41 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Frostwire as a program is clean, no spyware or other stuff. But when downloading any file you are risking a virus or other (worm, trojan, etc). Make sure your anti-virus is up to date and you won't have a problem. I use Frostwire and have Eset at work and Norton at home and both detect any corrupt or infected files and quaratine them while downloading or when downloading is done. If you are still worried you can right click on the file when done downloading and choose to scan it with your anti-virus program. Nothing can download without your selecting it in Frostwire (unless there are custom scripts you configure, beyond my skill). Good luck, Brad.

A. Some things that are downloaded from frostwire just won't play in the windows media player. Maybe its uncompatible or just a virus. Try Bittorrent. Its a lot safer. Download it from its official site(doesn't take much time) and the searching part is a little tricky. Open your web browser and type isohunt.com In the search type for the file and select the one you like. Click download torrent and then select files you want to download. Its easy and safe once you get the hang of it. Mail me if you have any confusion.

How can you tell if a file is safe to download from limewire or frostwire?
Q. I want to be safe and have a virus free computer. I know that limewire and frostwire are safe, its just the files from them im worried about. I want to download frostwire though, any advice, info, or suggestions? I really want to know how you can tell if a file is safe or not. Thanks!
Asked by may - Fri Jun 5 19:28:59 2009 - - 6 Answers - 1 Comments

A. You can't tell...ever. You can't tell by the size, good comments, how many downloads, the name, by scanning it, NOTHING. Anyone who tells you differently is uninformed. You want a virus free computer?? Don't use ANY P2P programs. You're not downloading from them, you're downloading THROUGH them to stranger's computers. Not a good idea, unless you trust people you don't know. EDIT @ Jack: No offense, but if a virus is, let's say, 120kb. Now what's to say that a 4.5MB music file doesn't have the song AND a virus in it? A song usually runs between 3 and 6MB. There's NO telling what is in the file. Also, no scanner is going to protect you 100%. Best to not steal music at all. People have gotten viruses from Frostwire just as much.
