Politics is a process by which groups of people make decisions. The term is generally applied to behavior within civil governments, but politics has been observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic and religious institutions. It consists of "social relations involving authority or power" and refers to the regulation of a political unit, and to the methods and tactics used to formulate and apply policy.

The word "Politics" comes from the Greek word πολἰς ("polis") meaning city-state. The Greek word πολίτἰκος "Politikos" describes anything concerning the state or city affairs. In Latin, this was "politicus" and in French "politique". Thus it became "politics" in Middle English (see the Concise Oxford Dictionary). The most perfect example of the Greek city-state is Athens.

How to use the negative organizational politics in getting work done?
Q. Organizational politics is usually bad politic. But how can we make use of it and change it into positive.
Asked by mkk - Mon Jun 9 01:54:45 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Organizational politics is usually directed to maximizing profits (cutting costs and maximizing utility for investors). If making better policy can be done by feasible costs and improve organizational efficiency/performance - then it's often question of survival for organization on market - so management will initiate new methods intervention automatically as they are available (and risks of negative consequences are low). Of course environment adaptation ability (personnel resistance, etc.) also matters.

How long will it take for Illinois politics to catch up with Obama?
Q. Obama escaped all of the dirt of Illinois politics for now but he still has the dirt on is shoes. How long will it take for the main stream media to realize the White House carpets are all tracked up with mud?
Asked by DynaFlowHum - Mon Feb 23 15:55:03 2009 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Probably never. The left wing liberal bias media is in the tank for Obama. Can you imagine if a Republican had chosen some tax cheats for cabinet positions? Since he's a Democrat, it was just a simple mistake. If they would have been Republicans, it would just prove that all Republicans are crooks. Blagovitch they will have to keep quiet...he knows way too much in Illinois politics. And you can't find anything worse no matter how hard you try. That Chicago political machine is the reason Cook County is called Crook County.

How do party politics at the local, state, and national levels differ?
Q. Im having problems with finding the differences between party politics at the, local, state and national level. Can someone help me?
Asked by Sam - Wed Jan 7 19:08:55 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. On the national and state level it is fairly simple. Democrats raise taxes and give benefits such as health care. Republicans lower your taxes but cut government programs. Republicans want you to be independent. Democrats want you to depend on the government and rich people who work their asses off.
